Week 17 - #leadershipforsocialchange (parés et al. 2017) very interesting read and three key elements 1. Reframing discourse 2. Bridging differences 3. Human energies all had a common element of listening and understanding, key in #socialchange for everyone #OUB329
Week 17 - 5 key ingredients for #storytelling, enables messages to be heard, I would say maybe 5.delight me, could also be changed into shock me, as sometimes hard hitting information needed for change isn’t nice to acknowledge but necessary for change #OUB329
Wk 16 - #activistleadership shows how important purpose is in leadership, without having purpose, no goals will be reached, this can be taken into other areas of leadership and build unity not just in being an activist #OUB329
Week 16 - through #precarity new ways of leadership is created, using #horizontalleadership gives freedom for everyone to be apart of the collective using social media, however it can also make it more difficult to come to a consensus #OUB329
Week 15 - with leadership comes #resistance, how leaders navigate resistance, will either build trust and positive change or a us against them attitude, leaders and followers working together is the only way to find solutions #OUB329
Week 15 - there are many to cause #resistance from overt - covert, some are more impactful such as strikes and others such as time wasting, still influences but in a subtle manner, however all cause impact to the company, leaders need to find the reasons why and fix it #OUB329
Week 14 - #placebasedleadership before an issue can be addressed nationally/globally, sometimes it needs to addressed locally, especially true in poverty areas, once the issue is addressed there, it has the potential to grow into national or global #OUB329
Week 14 - #Grint (2008) framework for prioritising issue, is a quick and easy way to find out how to breakdown all the issues into an manageable level, with wicked and critical being the priority. Makes it easier for everyone to follow the same direction @OUB329
Week 12 - #integrativeleadership, interesting concept but issues with having active followership and mindful leadership could arise, sounds good in theory but ‘too many cooks’ comes to mind, must have like minded people to achieve this goal #OUB329
Week 12 - #collaboration#positivesumgame like other topics on OUB329, communication is key, without being able to outline goals for everyone and compromise to achieve desired outcome, positive sum games will fail #OUB329
Week 11 - leadership is not always top down, John’s Campaign showed that without cares push and drive for change, this wouldn’t of been thought of and it’s a positive change to help people #leaderswithoutauthority#Heifetz1994#OUB329
Week 11 - #Constructivedissent finds a way to make a negative situation positive, can help open up perspectives, and for people to come together to find a solution for the issue, instead of it becoming a power struggle #OUB329
Week 10 - influence subconscious or consciously is very important in all decision making and ability to be a good leader, less importance is on hierarchy structure, meaning influence can come from anywhere and all views are valid and important #OUB329
Week 10 - Ratational approach reminds me of the importance of pleasing stakeholders as well as shareholders, the balance of meeting needs of different groups is important to convey leadership as inclusive and build relationships #OUB329
Week 9 - we can’t always choose who we have to work with, so learning about ways leaders can support collaboration with #Goman(2011) was things I will take on, in my day to day life, giving me a new skill set to work with #OUB329
Week 9 - similar to week 8, which I thought had a common theme of respect, week 9 has a common theme of trust, without trust collaborations will fail #OUB329
Week 8 - #leadershipstyles, in activity 4 I scored equal points for supporting and coaching, this directly links into what I thought of my style but I was surprised at my low delegating score…maybe something I can work on! #situationleadership#OUB329
Week 8 - Tom Kochan talks about respect, and what I always thought, for people to be #inclusive, acknowledging divisions and our multi identities, we can find ways to overcome divisions and learn to respect each other in all our identities to create inclusive culture #OUB329
Week 7 - I don’t know if I 100% agree that control isn’t needed to be a inspiring leader, if a leader doesn’t have control, how can they push their vision, would musk have created Tesla without control of his vision? #OUB329
