Just finished the gripping Shot in the Dark by @BrittonBookGeek. Loved every minute and didn't want to put it down. And the ending! Aaargh! Can't wait to find out what happens next. When is book 2 coming out?

How does everyone keep track of multiple plotlines and what to put where? I have several docs and excel files going and am sitting in front of the WIP, 5k words in, and already in a muddle

@TrunkytheTree I did give that a go a while back but didn't get on with it. I'm not sure why, as it's the obvious tool to use. Scary that you had unsaved work, hope you didn't lose it

@Sally_writes My problem is I've got ideas popping up on how to embellish the subplots as I'm plotting and writing and it's like argh I don't want to forget that, so I add it into the chapter plan and the excel file etc. Feel like I actually need an incident room and a whiteboard or something

Update following my rant earlier in the week about the shoddy writing course from the publisher: after I wrote to complain, they are investigating and gave me the refund I requested. Moral of this story: 1) believe in your own writing 2) always complain about crap service
