Right now in Malta's capital Valletta: People protesting in front of the parliament building. They're calling for the arrest of government officials involved in corruption and fraud

@irishexaminer Laws in other EU countries regarding car insurance and policy limits are a farce, don’t be fooled. At least if you have an accident here you are covered from all angles, insured or not. Not the case elsewhere. Malta is a prime example, they may as well have no insurance!
@LeoVaradkar@presidentmt There are no shared values and interests with a Country that is riddled with corruption, puts money before its people, and has no regard for human life, we will get that much straight.
@TheTimesofMalta When your justice system fails to prosecute those who drive drunk or on drugs & cause fatalities or severe injury then your country has a serious issue, it goes much deeper, your justice system is at fault also & those within it who try to prevent a conviction. Shameful.
@TheTimesofMalta Get the perpetrators to Court & prosecuted?!! Fines, penalty point system, speed cameras? A farcical system designed to accommodate those who think they are above the Law with dire consequences for their victims, lest we not forget, compensation is minimal for those who suffer.
@TheTimesofMalta Does that include bringing Drunk Drivers to justice rather than blatantly ignoring the catastrophic consequences for their victims? Weed out the corrupt that wreak havoc on your justice system, would be a good start! #RULEOFLAW
@irishexaminer MAPFRE MIDDLESEA are Maltese, look at their compensation Laws in Malta. They should NOT be allowed to operate in EU. They follow Maltese Law to a tee in every case no matter where you are. We have a bill of €600,000 that they still haven’t paid & @HSE haven’t chased it either!
Justice means reforming the institutions that corrupt politicians bent to their will.
The aggressive campaign to convince us that progress has been made has not impressed anyone.
Malta is still a flawed democracy. Genuine reforms are a long way off. The Commission knows this.
"The general feeling is of being trapped and unable to breathe as normality recedes further away and the government becomes more corrupt, oppressive, vindictive and scary"

Meanwhile, his son Tommy Vella is the drunk driver who is not named in this report - and he isn't mentioned in any other news report on the accident, which is extremely odd: https://t.co/BPGBoxrgzt
@rtenews It’s about time! Looks wonderful! Next step is to support people over 65 with serious brain injuries rather than placing them into nursing homes and leaving them without rehabilitation once they leave the NRH. It’s traumatising and it’s ageist and it needs to be addressed.
@DonnellyStephen Well why aren’t you holding people accountable then?! It’s blatantly obvious that there weren’t “double bookings” there were INTENTIONAL DOUBLE BOOKINGS!!! Pull your socks up Stephen Donnelly because your driving the most vulnerable and their families to the edge!! DO SOMETHING!
@Independent_ie Has ireland only woken up on this subject now?? 😠 A lot tougher penalties for people who who cause catastrophic injury also! This is a life sentence for victims & their families. Put a clamp on their houses and bank accounts to pay for their victims care! Make them pay!
The Navajo Nation has more confirmed cases per capita of COVID-19 than 48 US states! Navajo has depleted all of her limited resources to battle. Funding to fight is now grassroots fundraising - help if you can: Navajo & Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief Fund https://t.co/SdK1c5Wxgx
For our Irish brothers & sisters: if you look at the fundraising page now, there is an update today that acknowledges the flood of support coming from all of you with a very touching message. A segment of it here:
