In Nova Scotia, our ❤️s are shattered by #nsshooting .103 years ago in WWI, the people of NS suffered the horrific Halifax Explosion. Nova Scotians mourned 1950+ people. Today, we mourn lives again. Community, resilience, love, & hope reverberate anew. Together, we are #NSStrong
Hey #halifax , Lancers wants your help to name the new #HorsesofHalifax ! #DYK that as a non-profit, the organisation owns the horses? They are known as #YourHorsesofHalifax and aren't privately owned! Have your say on their social media. My vote is Halli! 🐴 #halifaxns
Don't forget about our naming contest! We want Halifax to help us name the newest Lancer, a sweet, young mare who recently came to live at the Lancers' barn. Comment on our Facebook video with your name suggestion! #halifax https://t.co/V6L6h6KRap
Thanks for your time. Lancers is excited about future plans to be able to serve even more people in HRM and have the #halifaxcommon as an even more cultural, historic, educational, and therapeutic space for the public #yourhorsesofhalifax#HFX#halifaxns

@Cove17 That is fantastic! In the chapter, I note that historians rarely have access to such great material because it still resides in personal collections (or attics...or basements). Moral of the story: everyone's history matters!
We're working to build more cycling connections for people of all ages and abilities. The Midtown All-Ages-and-Abilities (AAA) Bikeway Connections project will bridge the gap between existing and future AAA bikeways and allow more people to get to where they are going by bicycle.
In 2009, the Downtown #Halifax MPS identified 104 potential #heritage resources in the downtown core. As of 2019, only 71 of those heritage properties are still standing. Pleased to see a strategy being developed to protect those resources that remain: https://t.co/undc2M0EQ6
@XGelinas Don't worry, Harry's brother Winston shreds plenty of papers and steals every pencil! *Currently pushes them both away from papers* FN: I have long admired Airedales!
I guess I have to explain to my students that their papers are crumpled because Harry wanted to help with my marking! 🙈 #marking#universitykitty#catprofessor @ Halifax, Nova Scotia https://t.co/C258sHF8dw
Halifax is hurting from an immeasurable loss of life today following a house fire in Spryfield.
They arrived as refugees – but they became our neighbours. Our thoughts are with the survivors and their loved ones.
My statement from the House of Commons:
The next RNSHS public lecture will be held on Wed, December 12th, @NSArchives. Join Dr. Kirrily Freeman as she investigates the 'influence of racism and empire' during WWI through the service life and death of Private Charles Some. All welcome, more info: https://t.co/BVtddkZWg4

THIS! The power of digitisation & mapping! ..."This will allow connections to be drawn thematically or otherwise between related collections and objects, for gaps to be identified [....] and for the public to understand better the collections held by institutions."
Hans Hermansen, age 18, was a deck boy on the SS Hovland from Norway and was injured in the #HalifaxExplosion He had his left leg amputated and suffered a second hemorrhage. He finally died nine days after the Explosion on Dec 15, 1917. #DYK#HExD#HalifaxNS
#DYK that Leslie Howard, just 12 years old, is listed as dying from a ruptured stomach and peritonitis as a result of the #HalifaxExplosion ? Another died from
an injured eye and meningitis. #HExD
