We had a fun animation session full of songs, games, followed by a discussion on Scouting principles.
We also planned a veggie planting project starting next week. Excited to support them!

🌱 SCOUTS COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORT – RUKARA 🌍

On 15/11/2025, Scouts from the University of Rwanda – Rukara Campus partnered with Scouts from Lycée Saint Marcel Rukara for a community service activity focused on planting over 500 trees to promote environmental conservation.

We were warmly welcomed, joined Scouts in songs & games, and later shared an inspiring session on Scouting Fundamental Principles.

Clan Saint George Rover Scouts visited Scouts at C.J.S.M School.
We organized patrols by age & gender, each choosing a name, electing leaders, and creating patrol songs.
Their presentations were full of energy, everyone enjoyed the day!🥳

Clan Saint George Rover Scouts visited PSBB Scouts for a tree planting activity 🌳 under the theme “Igiti cyanjye, Umurage wanjye.” Each Scout named their tree! 🌱 Also discussed their kitchen garden project linked to "Food for Life" program of @worldscouting

⚜️🎋Empowering Scouts for Sustainable Agriculture – Food for Life Project 🌱🌾

#Scouts from Gasabo, Huye, Gisagara & Nyaruguru districts are undergoing hands-on training in sustainable farming at CFS Huye.

The sessions focus on soil health, organic fertilizer production, and sustainable food practices to equip unit leaders with skills to guide scouts in growing their own food.

📝 Key Learnings So Far:

✒️ Soil Characterization & Correction – Understanding soil texture, fertility & improvement techniques. For this, scouts had to bring sample soils from their neighbourhood to tested and analysed✌️.
✒️ Organic Liquid Fertilizer Production – Using homestead materials to create eco-friendly fertilizers.
✒️ Application & Best Practices – Enhancing soil & crop health with proper fertilizer use.
✒️ Tools & Seeds Distribution – Leaders received tools & seeds to start scout-led community gardens.
With these skills, Scouts will earn their Food for Life badges, grow nutritious food, and promote sustainable agriculture within their communities.
The training continues with keyhole garden designs & demo plot techniques, leading to a nutrition-focused session in July 2025.
