I can imagine the Canadian MSM news articles when/if they report.

All ops would shut down repeatedly for 4-24hrs because some Government Nerd or someone would find an "endangered animal" and it would be like a frog.
Imagine what 1 hour of non productivity cost?
That's part of the reason costs balloon.
Our refuge program is broken.
There are numerous TicTok videos instructing people how to game Canada's refuge system.
Not surprisingly there is currently a backlog of almost 300,000 refugee claimants in Canada.
Meanwhile, our youth have almost no hope of purchasing a house and starting a family.
How is this possible โ๏ธ
I put together the data of homeownership rates for refugees in Canada by years after arrival.
(Not all provinces had good data)
Almost 4% of refugees bought a home in their first year in Canada in Ontario, Alberta, and Manitoba.
By year 5, 20% of them bought a home in Ontario and double digit across other provinces.
Canada has one of the most unaffordable real estate market in the world, and people who apparently have nothing can afford it.
We either have massive fraud going on or taxpayers are showering them with that much money $$$.

Follow the incentives.
No matter how badly a government program is failing, a small group will always benefit enough to fight like hell to keep it alive.
The broader public, stuck paying for it, almost never organizes with the same ferocity to kill it.
Thatโs why broken programs survive for decades.
Concentrated gains beat diffuse costs every time, until we decide to match their intensity when it comes to abolishing these special privileges.
Yep, if you look at 2021, immigration fell dramatically due to travel restrictions. But from 2022 to 2024, our government added roughly 10% more people to Canada through immigration.
That led to obvious outcomes:
Supply of accommodations fell dramatically & prices inflated, Services like Medical became strained & crime increased.
Bad polices have real world ramifications.
