I put together the data of homeownership rates for refugees in Canada by years after arrival.
(Not all provinces had good data)

Almost 4% of refugees bought a home in their first year in Canada in Ontario, Alberta, and Manitoba.

By year 5, 20% of them bought a home in Ontario and double digit across other provinces.

Canada has one of the most unaffordable real estate market in the world, and people who apparently have nothing can afford it.

We either have massive fraud going on or taxpayers are showering them with that much money $$$.

Yep, if you look at 2021, immigration fell dramatically due to travel restrictions. But from 2022 to 2024, our government added roughly 10% more people to Canada through immigration.

That led to obvious outcomes:

Supply of accommodations fell dramatically & prices inflated, Services like Medical became strained & crime increased.

Bad polices have real world ramifications.
