Just over two months ago some of us had the crazy idea to start a football team. A name, crest, kit and ~25 players later, tomorrow we kick off our first competitive fixture against @TheCrowsXtended.
Who said grassroots football was dead? ⚽️ #BleedPurple
Clapham Common reached a first cup final this year, unfortunately losing out to Deportivo in the end. We would like to thank all the lads and anyone who has come down to support for a fantastic season! Onto the next 💜
We’ve had many battles with Junction Elite 3rds over the years but today came up against their 2nd team in the cup. Fantastic performance from the bare 11 of Clapham to hold them to a 1-1 draw in normal time. Then Tom won the game for Clapham in the shootout on his debut 💜
After some adverse weather conditions the last two weekends, the CCFC boys finally played their first game of the new year and secured a 5-2 cup win over stiff opposition from Arantes FC.
Gecco refused to let anyone else take this free-kick, and we’re happy he did.
Huge result vs Imber Old Boys today having lost 10-1 in the reverse fixture we managed a 3-3 draw having led 3-1 at half time. @grahamrodber @SELKGrassroots possible result of the week?
Some tough results in our recent games but consistently better performances. Today we were rewarded with the result we’ve been threatening, beating a good side 4-0 to progress in the cup.
There are those who say that Lev Yashin was today reborn on the Common.
Hillside Elite came out with a deserved 6-0 win against the 12 men of Clapham. CCFC saw a penalty saved and legs tired towards the end on what turned out to be a very warm afternoon. We go again 💜
Matchday 👊
After a well-earned 2-2 draw with Alfletico Madrid Reserves in the opening game of the season, this week the boys face Hillside Elite, another team we’ve had good battles with in the past. Hopefully another good game in store 😈💜
A great send off today for two of our 2019 OGs, Andy and Ludi who leave us this year. They’ve given a hell of a lot of time and effort to our club over the last few years and we intend to carry on their impressive admin skills as we go on.
Happy to announce none of our players will be joining any Saudi clubs. We are however interested in their paid actors for our own transfer announcements.
Please like this post if your team are looking for players, we had an unprecedented amount of players looking to join our team this summer and wouldn’t want anyone to go without football or a lack of players for the coming season.
