I wrote a short op-ed for Le Monde summarising the research that compares the EU single market to the US internal market. Surprisingly, the two are not very different anymore! Most results come from Head and Mayer (2021) JEP, a fantastic analysis of the EU SM in the last decades.

Just got back from Ciudad Perdida (Colombia) where they found this pre-Columbian map. Archeologists think the vertical lines are rivers and the radial lines are paths connecting a system of cities in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.

But our Wiwa guide, Pablo, told us it's not really a map where your can find yourself. It is an abstract representation of how we are all connected among each other and with the Earth. The Mamos (spiritual leaders) use it to predict problems in the community.
