Two weeks before the 25th anniversary of the deadliest terrorist attack in American history, CBC has instructed its journalists not to refer to 9/11 as a terrorist attack.

Nearly 3,000 innocent people were murdered that day, including 24 Canadians, in an act of monstrous evil.

Canadians stood shoulder to shoulder with our American friends, neighbours, and allies in the aftermath. Nearly 7,000 stranded passengers found safe harbour in Gander. More than 40,000 Canadians would go on to serve in Afghanistan alongside our allies in the fight against terrorism.

To call 9/11 anything other than a terrorist attack is an appalling distortion of history. It dishonours the victims and their families, the survivors, and the first responders who suffered from the horrors of that day.

CBC must immediately apologize and retract this directive.

Britain’s precious “two-state solution” is profoundly immoral. People who wage a 100-year campaign of mass murder to prevent and then exterminate a legitimate country, while turning down repeated offers of a state of their own because they want to murder yet more of those people and destroy that country, and who indoctrinate their own children to do so in perpetuity, deserve absolutely nothing.

Those like the British government, who have spent the past century rewarding such a programme and are now punishing its intended victims, can be described in two words: morally depraved.

In light of the CBC News’ grotesque rewriting of history, which insults the memories of all who died that day and all who sacrificed in Canada’s longest war since Korea, I expect a full throated condemnation by our Prime Minister, as as well as an expectation that he treat CBC News leadership with the same level of contempt and issue the same threats of committee hearings that he levelled at the former CEO of Air Canada, following his unilingual misstep after the accident at LaGuardia that killed two Air Canada pilots.

Yesterday we reminded Canadians that @CBCNews refuses to call Hamas a terrorist organization. Today, reports of a leaked memo reveals they are now instructing staff not to call 9/11 a "terrorist attack."

Sanitizing the most infamous acts of terror in modern history as mere "hijackings that led to crashes" is a complete collapse of journalistic standards. Ideology should never replace facts at our national public broadcaster.
