Greetings from the Great Midwest! Starting off my weekly 🧵of notable work from @NPRMidwestNews partners with this from @natalie_krebs@IowaPublicRadio@SideEffectsNews
1/7 More rural hospitals no longer deliver babies: How is this one defying the trend? https://t.co/JZcGaLYHnh
Did a great interview with @ClareAliceRoth on Ohio school board races and political polarization that Ohio public radio newsrooms ran today, give it a listen/read here: https://t.co/dn3MWwZ6cX
@PatrickACooley My bf who manages Beechwold Hardware says "non-mortised butt hinge." They might have one. If not, Woodcraft on Bethel/Kenny would be a good guess.
@dosima_org 😅 One of the many ways I'm a "bad friend" -- I've never attended MFB. The other day someone suggested I should start because I'd make a good clerk and I blanched.
What do Facebook ex-pats use to invite folks to parties? Would love an online system that would save people's emails, etc so I can click "previous attendees" or something similar.
Mentioned my cross-streets to a guy at a party.
"Oh, I used to live near there. It was this butt-ugly popcorn stucco house surrounded by beautiful Victorians."
Readers, he was describing my house.
after 4.5 years, friday was my last day at the @beaconjournal. and after 7 years, it’s also my last day working in local daily journalism (at least for now). i’m going to be starting as an associate editor of a B2B magazine focusing on garden centers next week (/1)
🚨🚨🚨 My friend and former colleague @DivaOfDiversity also won a Murrow for her podcast! Michelle brings the most incisive perspective (and her gorgeous writing ability) to everything she does. This is an outstanding example. https://t.co/1OK0lZtcpK
@erin_gottsacker The best part of journalism is working with brilliant, dedicated people. Every reporter I've edited has blown me back with their talent and their passion. I'm glad some of them are getting recognition for that brilliance.
