Going to EGU in 2025? Researching LIA glaciers? Consider submitting an abstract to our session CR1.6 (GM9) - Little Ice Age advances: unravelling ice extent, timing, climate conditions, and patterns of retreat. https://t.co/gdbZMXa2O6
Very pleased to be part of this ESPL special issue on glacier/ice sheet behaviour. What a great set of papers! Thanks to the editors for their work putting this together. You can find our paper on the role of topography on landform development here https://t.co/SdxZGf1mYH
Happy to announce the publication of a special issue on geomorphology and glacier/ice sheet behaviour! 🧊🏔️
We have 22 research articles, covering a range of timescales, spatial scales, methodological approaches and glacial processes.

Yesterday we willingly sailed into an active volcano, to explore the shores of Deception Island. Walking along the black beach, with snow-capped ridges all around was striking. This is an island of fire and ice. #TouristDay@_amwphotos@hmsprotector@Oceanites
Fay Couceiro, Professor of Environmental Pollution at the University of Portsmouth carried out water sampling for microplastics around Pourquoi Pas Island and prepared the samples in the Wet Lab onboard HMS PROTECTOR.

A great day at Pourquoi Pas Island investigating some recent/Neoglacial moraines. And of course visit not complete without some penguins! @hmsprotector@UOP_SEGG
Excited to have arrived in the Antarctic Peninsula on @hmsprotector I’ll be exploring the glacial geomorphology along our route. More updates to follow…
We have arrived in the Antarctic and the local wildlife came out to greet us. Next stop Port Lockroy. Photos by @gtsasmithphotography

Great to have @CosmoKeir visit @UOP_SEGG today to give a fantastic talk on the glacial history of Pine Island and Thwaites glaciers in West Antarctica.
GM10.2 Cold Regions Geomorphology will be back again at #EGU24. We invite contributions on present-day/Quaternary glacial/periglacial landforms, sediments, processes. https://t.co/DM49Wv3HLo
Are you working on Little Ice Age glaciers? Going to #EGU24? Consider our session CR1.6 LIA Glacier Advances led by Paul Weber. We invite contributions on e.g. timing, extent, dynamics, climate, post-LIA change and societal impacts. https://t.co/fqWivJ8x2n
Pleased to see this work on surge-type glaciers in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) is now published, it has been several years in the making! Thanks to co-authors Jonathan Carrivick, @Owen__King, @Jennalo13, Jacob Yde, @ClareBoston and @Glacjoblogia.
