I’ve manually made around 10 accounts and more than 100 posts until today. It’s quicker and easier to produce content with AI, but doing this slower way helped me develop an eye for good content ideas and understand the trending stylistic vibe.
I started TikTok from January. I used to spend hours making posts that would only get 300 views but now I’m seeing some progress:
・ total >6M views 1K followers on a single account w only 4 posts
・first post hitting 1K views on a completely new account
I bought a new IPhone (couldn’t create a new AppleId w my ancient iPhoneX) and finally it’s successfully set up! A test post got 1k views and the audience is 99% from the US. Let’s gooooo :)
Yeyyy reached 1M views and 100 followers!! Finding one replicable viral format is all it takes. Replicable means you don’t have to change your routine accordingly. Growing your socials now is like investing in property, so why not?
A few people have asked whether I make these accounts interact with each other (likes, shares, etc.) to boost engagement.
The answer is no.
I keep all of these accounts completely independent and they rarely interact with anything after the warm-up phase. The only thing they do is post one piece of content per day. I also stop posting when the previous post is still gaining views and has the potential to go viral.
One important thing to keep in mind is that I’m based in Vietnam, so I have to use a VPN. That’s already a significant flag that gives TikTok a reason to shadowban an account. If you also start artificially boosting engagement by having accounts interact with each other, your chances of getting flagged or banned become much higher.
The key is to behave as human as possible.
People online be like:
“I solo-built 2 apps to $150k MRR” 😭
Meanwhile behind the scenes:
full team
massive ad spend
influencer campaigns
low/no profit
eventually shut down 🥴
Algorithms love success hooks, not the painful reality.
My first app:
~2 months to hit first $100 MRR
My second app:
~9-10 months just to figure out a viral format + build an organic content farm
finally hit ~$8k/month
Most people don’t show the boring middle part.
Stop comparing your chapter 1 to someone else’s highlight reel.
Focus on your own product.
Keep shipping.
Keep marketing.
Keep going.
This self-care app has one of the best onboarding experiences I’ve seen in a while.
Onboarding
- Choose your own cat mascot
- Smooth animations and satisfying sounds
- Collects key user data naturally
- ;akes you sign a cat “contract”
Paywall
- Fun, dynamic graphics and copywriting
- Clever animation highlighting the discounted yearly plan
- Simple yearly + weekly subscription options
This is proof that great onboarding can completely change how users feel about your app.
If you put this much care into your onboarding, your chances of succeeding go way up.

I genuinely don’t understand the outrage over Spotify’s temporary app icon. A 20-year anniversary is exactly when a company should be allowed to do something playful and different. The default will be back soon.
