I’m a huge Will Smith fan. I have been since the Fresh Prince days.

But what happened last night was absolutely unacceptable. While Chris Rock’s joke was in poor taste, it is not a defense to Smith’s actions.

Lawyers who handle Assault and Battery cases, as I do, will tell you that someone making a joke about your spouse does not justify a slap, punch, or any physical contact for that matter.
