Add the Greedy Useful Idiot, Gary Neville to the mix — the PR frontman whose major developments collapse unless Renaker rescues them — and you get a regeneration model that looks less like civic planning and more like a three‑man loop of cosy deals, inflated land buys and celebrity cover.

This is the group with:

• frustration with political pressure
• no national political agenda

Senior officers have already:

• resigned over valuations
• raised concerns about governance
• complained about “developer capture”
• leaked to the media

Their motive:
protect professional integrity and expose what they see as distorted decision‑making.

2️⃣ Labour factions who never wanted Burnham

Burnham is not universally loved inside Labour.

Groups with motive include:

• Westminster Labour MPs who resent his independence
• Old‑guard figures who dislike his “Manchester first” brand
• Starmer‑aligned MPs who see him as a Con Artist

Their motive:
stop Burnham becoming a national power centre.

Leaks about land deals, UAE ties, and developer capture weaken his credibility.

3️⃣ Developers or foreign investors who feel Burnham has shifted position

Burnham has:

• criticised Manchester City’s ownership
• commented on Abu Dhabi investment
• distanced himself from certain foreign capital narratives
