🚨BREAKING: Filton 4 sentenced as terrorists

Amnesty opposes the use of terrorism powers in this case.

It is completely disproportionate to punish protesters for criminal damage as if they were terrorists, a sentence which stays with you for life.

The defendants in today’s case were sentenced as terrorists because prosecutors want to make an example of them.

Today's decision shows how direct action protesters could be treated in the future.

The use of terrorism laws against direct action protesters must end.

Our daughter, Rachel Corrie, was killed in 2003 in Gaza, while trying to protect a Palestinian home facing illegal destruction by the Israeli military. She was 23 years old. The massive, armored Caterpillar D-9 bulldozer that crushed her was operated by two Israeli soldiers and manufactured in the United States. It was the same type of militarized bulldozer that US presidents from George W. Bush through to Donald Trump have delivered to Israel.
Today, as the destruction of Palestinian homes has only become more commonplace, not to mention the horror of Israel’s genocide, Senator Bernie Sanders will force a vote in the Senate to try to end this cycle of death by banning the transfer of D-9 bulldozers to Israel. We hope he will not take this stand alone.
No policy can bring back those taken from us by these actions—children and other loved ones. But the Senate now has an opportunity to honor the memories of our daughter, other Americans, and thousands of Palestinian civilians killed, and to show that their deaths, and all the destruction, will no longer be condoned and funded. We hope those elected to represent us, the American people, understand the message that voting to block these D-9 bulldozers will send. NHS staff have been told they might lose their jobs if they criticise NHS England’s controversial £330m contract with IDF-contractor Palantir.

According to the FT, an analytics officer who had raised concerns about Palantir’s Federal Data Platform (FDP) was told by a senior NHS official: “If you criticise the FDP one more time, you are going to lose your job.”

“I know I am not the only one inside the NHS who has been warned off criticising the tool publicly,” the analytics officer added.

In January 2024, Palantir announced a strategic partnership with the Israeli government to support “war-related missions”, meaning its tools are being used in a genocide. It also provides technology to immigration enforcement in the US, and founder Peter Thiel has provided financial backing to Donald Trump.

Citing ethical concerns, the British Medical Association (BMA) has instructed union members not to adopt Palantir’s Federal Data Platform.

In February, BMA chair Tom Dolphin told the British Medical Journal: “Given Palantir’s track record, including controversies in the US involving immigration enforcement and the risks to patient trust, data security, and NHS independence, we believe there must be a complete break from Palantir technologies in the NHS and no further contracts awarded.”

But staff told the FT that NHS organisations are under pressure to sign up voluntarily to the Palantir data system. Technicians working on alternative systems have been told to stop in their tracks.

“When letters go out saying, ‘Sign this or we’ll call your chief executive’, that doesn’t build goodwill,” said an analytics official. “It creates compliance, not commitment.”

Palantir boasts contracts across British public services, with its technology already embedded in the police and the military.

Last month, two anonymous Ministry of Defence officials told journalists at the Nerve that Palantir’s deepening knowledge of the British state poses “a national security threat to the UK”.

123 out of 205 NHS hospital trusts have already adopted Palantir’s data system.

Prof frith states we have two big subgroups: the people who are diagnosed in early childhood - usually before age three or age five, depending on things like their intellectual abilities and language - and another group, diagnosed much later.
This population is different. It is made up of a lot of adolescents, and among them, a lot of young women. These are people without intellectual impairment, who are perfectly able to communicate verbally and non-verbally, but who might feel highly anxious in social situations. They are perhaps characterised mainly by a sort of hypersensitivity.

These women are vulnerable they often experience domestic abuse in relationships, they often mask and experience burnout and mh struggles as a result , they often have children who are autistic or adhd, some do have intellectual impairment, adhd and autism is being recognised as being comorbid with #Ehlerdanlos and other conditions why is this professor making such sweeping statements I wonder ?
