Building the 110,000-square-foot continuous concrete exhibition space suspended directly over active city traffic requires visionary planning and engineering. 🏛️

Floating across Wilshire Boulevard, the 30,000-ton @LACMA David Geffen Galleries structure features a columnless 150-foot concrete span and relies on 56 massive seismic isolators that safely shift the building up to five feet during an earthquake.

Our look back at Clark’s history continues with the years 1986-1995 – a decade defined by iconic stadium construction, heavy civil expansion, and seismic engineering breakthroughs.

This pivotal decade marked our entry into Major League sports construction with Baltimore’s landmark Oriole Park at Camden Yards, while expanding our civil reach through the acquisition of Shirley Contracting Company. Combined with delivering major facilities like the Miami Beach Convention Center and pioneering base isolation retrofits across California, this era solidified our reputation for technical excellence. 💙 #Clark120

Happy 10th anniversary to the @NMAAHC! Delivering this 409,000-square-foot landmark required immense technical precision, including excavating 70 feet below grade and constructing the museum around massive artifacts like an 80-ton Pullman rail car. Ten years later, we remain proud to have helped bring this institution to life. #ClarkBuildsDC
