Russell Kirk called politics "The Art of the Possible." Accomplish what is actually possible.
In recent years, politics is The Art of the Tantrum. For many voters, it is more important to vent emotions than to actually accomplish something.
@Chris_Hadrick2@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray I know that. They agreed with me, and there was no reason to date it otherwise until anti-supernatural "scholars" came along in recent years.
@ChristinaPushaw@MyLatinLife There should be at least a minimal test of proficiency just to enter the country as anything other than a tourist, with a higher proficiency bar set for citizenship. Want to be here on a work permit? Study English at home first.
@Chris_Hadrick2@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray Why do you suppose so many non-Christian scholars are not willing to take your approach? It seems that there is something unsatisfying to them about it.
@Chris_Hadrick2@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray It's the other way around. If you assume that divinely inspired prophecy is impossible, as many secular "scholars" do, then those gospels must have been written after 70 A.D. and the prophecies are fake.
Admit an earlier date, and you have to admit real prophecy.
@Chris_Hadrick2@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray As I wrote earlier, the issue is whether Jesus predicted the future destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D., or was that a fake prophecy composed after the fact. There is no post-70 evidence, only an anti-supernatural assumption.
@Chris_Hadrick2@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray How longish? Why can't "to this very day" refer to Matthew writing in about 62 A.D.? How is this evidence of a later than 70 A.D. authorship?
@Chris_Hadrick2@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray How much oral transmission, for how long, can affect our estimation of their reliability.
The late-date "scholars" end up denying the traditional authorship, then denying that they were eyewitness accounts, undermining their reliability. Opposing such nonsense is important.
@KafkaesqueKlamm@charlesmurray The late authorship of the gospels is a theory motivated by the anti-supernatural assumption that there is no such thing as divine prophecy, coupled with Jesus predicting the destruction of Jerusalem in the synoptic gospels.
Feel free to present the "evidence" referenced.
@boriquagato My personal algorithm for about 6 months now:
1. Go to my profile and click on the list of people I follow.
2. Go down the list, right click a person into their own tab, look at their posts for the last few weeks.
3. Do 3-6 people per day. Spend months. Never look at X "feed."
@TheLastRefuge2 Of course, this is all a matter of degree. 100% self-reliance for all countries is infeasible due to the distribution of mineral resources, among other things.
As self-reliance increases in degree, trade decreases in degree. WEF does not want that.
@mtelford_cis@FBIDirectorKash Are you still subject to a "shadow ban" from the bad old days of Twitter? Hard to believe the near-zero likes on your tweets, with more than 2000 followers.
@SueFinkam Looking for an answer for 20 years now. Can someone tell me why news stories always say a suspect has 30 prior arrests but mentions no convictions? Is it easier to get the arrest number from a computer, or are we constantly arresting without convicting?
@EricLDaugh If it is possible to know that Franklin County has 3 times the home health claims per capita as expected, then it is possible to quickly identify via computer all such counties in America. We will see if the administration puts out the effort. I hope so.
@shovas@PaulVanderKlay Their "communism" did not involve government and thus it is poor communication to use that word today to describe what they did.
@PaulVanderKlay The left simply never talks about the temptations that accompany power, or the corruptibility of government power-wielders. They favor a certain style of government because these issues are not on their radar screens, due to a utopian vision of human nature.
