@aye_yuo Brees and Payton knew just how to use Graham to get the most from him. Wilson and Rodgers and their coaching staffs wanted a bit more of traditional TE play from him, of which he was a mid blocker at best, and he went from being a potential all time great to hall of very good.

@dalton1994smith @goatlave2 Brees’ replacement was going to be drafted that year regardless. His performance in 2004 and 2005 simply staved that off until he obliterated his shoulder. They could’ve tried to give him a WR weapon, but they didn’t and had to act on the decision they made in that draft.

They certainly could’ve done a lot worse than going from Brees to Rivers. It bit them in the ass some, but I don’t blame them for the move

@Saintjohnbutler The NFL would never give an MVP to a player on a team that missed the playoffs in the modern era, even if they’re 3-13 or 4-12 without him. 2009 should’ve been the #2 spot. 2008 was the perfect storm for Manning. His only competition was on worse teams (Brees, Warner, Rivers)
