All my good travel luck kept its receipt and returned it all today. Fingers crossed that there aren’t anymore catastrophic surprises. Just 5 more hours to go.
Twitch streaming has been my biggest motivator to do the things I’ve always wanted to do like music comping/arranging and speedrunning. I’m really glad I found this platform that gives me these opportunities to set aside time for things that bring me joy
I have just been scarred by the knowledge that Persians were said to have used cats as protection so the Egyptians wouldn’t fight back because cats were worshipped and apparently it was pretty effective
Went from being so bad at cooking that i set off the fire alarm every time I boil water to making healthy waffles from scratch! It’s the tiny victories like these that keep the rare and elusive chemical serotonin flowing through my brain.
It’s so excruciatingly painful when this happens with things you enjoy. I’ve got a whole list of dreams and ambitions that get thrown in the gutter constantly because my brain refuses to cooperate.
Something people w/o ADHD don’t seem to understand: it’s not just the tasks we don’t like that we struggle with. Today, I really wanted to play guitar and video games but I got stuck unable to get started for 4 hours. I couldn’t do my HOBBIES because I couldn’t find the start.
Four kids who have rough lives get everything they’ve ever wanted, but the protagonist ruins it for everyone by destroying a continent and most of its people because “escapism” or something.
For me:
1) Thick 7th and extended chords
2) syncopated and groovy bass lines
3) Lower sounds in general
4) Polyrhythms
5) Laid back/slightly out of rhythm melodies
For my own curiosity, comment a few musical qualities/things that you consistently enjoy hearing in a song/piece. I’ve started becoming hyper-aware of my own and now I want to hear y’all’s. I’ll comment my own as well. I’m also doing this experiment on Facebook.
