@sotontimes UK Natives should trace their lineage and start a "First Peoples" movement, like the US and Canada. The native indigenous population of these Islands should be protected and respected.
Ok, and with that, I can tell you are just a petulant child. One not interested in understanding the rich history here in America, but only interested in being a complete massive knob gobbler. This is no longer in good faith. Listen, when you realize it (you'll know what I am talking about). Instead of letting that warm feeling of frustration and anger wash over you as you fail to get your next dopamine hit, just remember. Twitter isnt real. Call a family member and tell them you love them. Go play football with your mates. You dont have the proper temperament for intellectual debate.
It will never not be funny to me, that there are people so brainwashed by propaganda, that they believe the majority of Americans are not well traveled or educated.
Not sure if it’s ignorance or projection.
Like, if someone from California came to the east coast of America. The equivalent would be someone from London, going to Azerbaijan.
The European mind just doesn’t grasp the size of the US.

@smwsmw97@doubledub48 Again, you're confusing just the history of the US, for American (the continent not the country) history on this continent. Also, the UK was founded in 1801, when the USA was founded 1776
@smwsmw97@doubledub48 My standard is the vast cultural difference between people. Language, evolution, architecture... Here in the states we have that.
And, that is an unverifiable metric. Your arguing emotions instead of substance. What are you using for a metric? Language, length of history, culture? You cant just make a statement that "its not comparable" without setting a standard to compare too. Give me a standard, and I will be happy to try and compare it.
We have separate nations here in the states too. You can travel the country bouncing from Native reservation to native reservation. Each people its own rich history. Native mounds dating back to 3500BC. Cliff dwellings from the 1100's, and so much more. Im not knocking that you dont know these things. Its not like you guys do in depth US History. You have your own fantastic history. But, we do have ours too, and its way older than you think.
@smwsmw97@doubledub48 No, which is exactly why I mentioned the "size" aspect, and mentioned nothing about "culture". If you want to talk culture, I could make that argument too.
@WaterSmoothRock@Eagles HAHAHA, yes, 99% of time. I have legit been called a F in the parking lot at the Linc. All for having the wrong bird on my jersey.
@smwsmw97@doubledub48 I invite you to visit Ithaca, NY. Observe the culture, the customs, the people. Then when youre done there, just a short drive away is several Seneca Nation Reservations. Then come back, and try and convince us all its the same....
@azide_enjoyer@smcroasters@GBNT1952 we were better behaved when the chance of getting into a fight or being run out of civil society was a potential outcome.
Now, its just bitch bitch bitch, with no reprecussions.
Thats exactly what I mean. 150 years ago people like that still existed. You could run your mouth at the pub to the wrong person, and end up in a "pistols at dawn" scenario. If you didnt show, you were basically ran out of town as a coward.
Of course depending on code of conduct, things like the Irish Code Duello, allowed you a way out by way of apology.
