On Friday we had our treat for filling both sides of our star chart. Well done! We watched Shaun the sheep and had ice pops and popcorn. I am really impressed with our reading we have kept going up until the final week and made some great progress. 😊.

Yesterday afternoon we made our sock puppets, I was very impressed with how creative the children were. They loved making them and they look great! Well done 😊

Problem solving in maths this week. Challenge..... there are 12 legs in the boats. Who could we put in the boat to make a total of 12 legs. 🧍🏼‍♂️🐞🐄=12 or 🧍🏼‍♂️🦆🐖🐑=12 . So many possibilities. Amazing discussion and jottings to help us work it out. 💪🏼 @st_clifton

Our caterpillars have turned into the most beautiful Painted lady butterflies & today was the day to let them go. We felt a bit sad so see them go. One didn’t want to leave us & hung around for a while letting us have a really close up look! @st_clifton @ClassClifton

We loved our school trip today at @visitBrockholes thank you Emma and Kate 😊. We loved building our own dens and we found all the Gruffalo characters in the woods, while we were bug hunting, we even found a frog! The children were excellent well done 😊.

I was very impressed that nearly all of the children read this week and received their certificate well done. A few children left theirs in the classroom so will get them on Monday 😊. Don’t forget it’s our school trip on Monday. It’s non uniform and suitable clothes for outside.

Today we all went in the Golden book because of our excellent Maths work. The Year 1s have been very busy practising lots of addition and subtraction sums. EYFS have been working on odd and even numbers. Well done 😊.

We are enjoying our The Very Hungry Caterpillar topic, here are some of the activities we have been busy completing this afternoon in continuous provision🐛.

Today we learnt about the butterfly life cycle and made our own using different types of pasta, to represent each stage. Don’t they look great! When we went outside to play we found some caterpillars. We checked on class caterpillars, we discovered they had turned into chrysalis!

On Monday we innovated the food The Very Hungry Caterpillar ate, our favourite day was Saturday because he went to a BBQ and ate all the food! Then he finished eating on Sunday with a pineapple leaf 🍍. The children had some wonderful ideas well done 😊.
