Todayโs surprise assembly was for our principal Dr. Richmon. There was a song, a poem, a survival kit, a story and rap and much more presented. Many Ss said thank you, we will miss you and good luck at your new school. #sadtoseeyougo@bayviewglenps1
Thanks to the grade 4s, 5s and 6s in Ms. Kempโs and Ms. Hanksโ classes for creating the wonderful rock artworks. #rockgarden#artandnature@bayviewglenps1
In French class, Ss are continuing their marionettes for the play โLe Chat et la Lune. Lots of wonderful, unique and creative characters being created. #funwithplays@bayviewglenps1
The grade 4s and 5s have been investigating (using Canadaโs Food Guide), which parts of their lunch are proteins, whole grains, and fruits and vegetables. #healthyeating@bayviewglenps1
Last week, we combined artmaking and the outdoors for #takemeoutsideday. We focussed on drawing trees. The 4/5s learned about the grey scale, using a smudger for shading and creating different lines. @bayviewglenps1 @YRDSBArts
What do you know about writing a letter? Using their whiteboards, Ss share their thinking and what they already know about letter writing. This is a fun way to identify studentโs prior knowledge and it helps to start the class discussion. @bayviewglenps1
This week we finished off our leaf prints. Using the leaves, Ss created positive and negative spaces. They used complementary colours to make the leaf print pop! #yrdsbarts#fallinspiration@bayviewglenps1
We finally updated our world map to show where students and their families originated. Students are learning more about their classmates and a little geography along the way. @bayviewglenps1#celebratingdiversity
Yes, itโs raining ๐ง outside, but students enjoyed building and playing some of the classroom games. Itโs great to see students working together! #collaboration#socialtime
