ARRESTED: A 51-year-old Oshakati man has been arrested for allegedly raping a female journalist after she became unconscious at his residence in June.

Police allege the journalist became dizzy and weak after consuming a drink at the suspect’s home and later regained consciousness with signs that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted.

She later discovered she was pregnant and alleged that the suspect gave her Misoprostol tablets, described as abortion pills, after which she experienced heavy bleeding for about three weeks. The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court. Police investigations continue.
