Finally heading off after producing @BBCRadio3 Breakfast this morning with the wonderful @PetrocTrelawny and then doing my @BBCCambs job from London for the day. Catch up below if you missed it, I’m off to a beer festival! https://t.co/ppblB6hPT8
Honoured as always to be asked in as an occasional producer, especially when you get to produce something as iconic as @BBCRadio3 breakfast, thanks to @PetrocTrelawny and the team for having me back. Hopefully we’ve got the nation off to a good start today, have a good one all!
Breakfast is live @BBCRadio3 Today @Fedorova_Anna plays the piano concerto Rachmaninov started when he was 17, Earl Wild gets rhythm. Korngold writes for violins, cello and piano left hand and as the Paralympics get underway Lehar offers Gold and Silver.
You can hear more music from @ben_bernheim on Radio 3 Breakfast tomorrow morning.
Tune in just before 8am on @bbcsounds to hear @KateMolleson playing ‘Tout est fini’ featuring Benjamin.
A floating piano played mid-air = total drama 🎹🖤
Tenor @ben_bernheim performs The Hymn to Apollo - the oldest hymn from Ancient Greece, accompanied by Alain Roche.
Busy but productive Friday: finalising the running order for producing @BBCRadio3 Breakfast with @KateMolleson on Monday, ice cream with Mrs Dr Walsh, then being joined @RoyalAlbertHall by father-in-law Terry for his favourite piece @bbcproms, Richard Strauss’ Alpine Symphony.
Always a joy to welcome Vasily Petrenko and the @royalphilorch to the @bbcproms. Shimmering Ives, beautiful Debussy and Tchaikovsky, and the sparkling Ravel Piano Concerto with Denis Kozhukhin. Twenty-two Proms down, 68 to go…
Brollies at the ready as we dashed for tonight’s @bbcproms concert at @RoyalAlbertHall and one of my favourite piano concertos by Ravel. Music from Charles Ives, Debussy and Tchaikovsky make this a real treat of an evening, even with the slightly soggy weather on the way in!
Another day at work and play. Work meeting in Salford until 14:30, then hotfooting it back to the @RoyalAlbertHall for tonight’s Nick Drake Prom @bbcproms and now on the train to Cambridge working on my running order for producing a day of @BBCRadio3 Breakfast again next month.
@thoroughlygood I don’t think there should be a maximum, but if we’re trying to defend core rep against the competing needs of other music styles then it just feels as if there should be a guaranteed level. To me it feels as if this year’s level is probably as low as I would want to go.
Booking for @bbcproms 2024 complete for now, although we may do a couple more as on the day Prommers. Very happy with the selection we got, and only about an hour and a half in the queue! 😂 Can’t wait to be back at our summer home @RoyalAlbertHall in a couple of months.
Thoroughly well deserved. Having the privilege to work with @annalapwood remains a career highlight and so glad to see that her music, education and sense of fun have touched so many this year. 👏 👏 👏
Merry Christmas! I’m bringing you two and a half hours of festive fun live on @bbccambs this morning, including chats with the Salvation Army, Ely Cathedral, a finalist from the Radio 3 carol competition and Ben Savage from folk group A Winter Union.
