🏛 A warning from a time long gone yet still very much alive - do not let your emotions carry you too far away after yesterday’s historic One Nation win in WA.
Hubris also applies to supporters, of which any Australian worth their civic soul is one - because it is in all of our interests to retrieve our country.
But make no mistake, the fight has just begun.
Labor and Liberal will now double down with their attacks on anyone who stands for or supports ON.
There will be no mea culpa from Angus Taylor or Matt Canavan because they cling to the party machinery as if their lives depend upon it.
Labor will do what Labor does best - smear and ridicule.
The LNP will do what they do best - prevaricate and waffle.
Don’t rest on any laurels, but don’t let your minds swell from the ecstasy of the small wins.
Hubris has destroyed many an empire - and it is always waiting in the wings for its next victim.
@Lisa9Sophia She absolutely should be, Lisa. But we both know that will never happen.
Look at that other disgrace, Wells.
We are at rock bottom. I just wonder how long it will take to begin the arduous climb back up.
@JEChalmers What a nerve you have celebrating such grandiose projects while so many Australians are becoming impoverished.
How you sleep at night is beyond me.
What’s with the latest “Playschool” rhetoric and PR from politicians?
We have a state Premier labelling himself a “baby”where he could have substituted a more mature term like “novice;” and a 21 year old “SENATOR” sitting in a car devouring a sausage roll presenting herself as some sort of new age “bogan.”
God have mercy on Australia 🤦♀️
This is the actual excuse from Chris Minns for what went on at the Opera House over 6 months after he had been in the job 🤣 👶
"I think that manifested itself when I was a new Premier, a baby Premier, and we saw the march move from the Town Hall down to the Opera House".
@shallowchal@QBCCIntegrity Pitiful and yet, we allow it by virtue of the flawed system we enable.
If she were my kid, I’d tell her to resign immediately and demand she go away and discover what “respect” means.
🏛🪶 Dear Cicero,
You were right about what it takes to govern a state:
‘It is not enough to possess virtue, as if it were an art of some sort, unless you make use of it…the existence of virtue depends entirely upon its use; and its noblest use is the government of the state.’
Although we are not living up to your advice 2000 years on, your words echo through time memorial in the hope that one day we will get the message.
Sincerely,
A student of yours from 2026 AD

And yes, the image is deliberate - a modern mind cloaked in the physical mood of the time.
Also, not dooming here - pining for tradition can be the idea of glory 😁🏛
@DavidDim_ocracy Allowed????
But it’s allowed by virtue of our flawed political system.
If that was my child, I’d tell them to exhibit at least a crumb of decency and integrity and resign immediately.
She’s a disgrace, but the system allows for it.
@Ryandally08@LeeroySmith68 I’d like to believe that, Ryan, but like every one of these creatures he will just sail off into the sunset enriched by our enslavement.
