‼️ Early-onset lung cancer emerged as one of the strongest signals in a major new Nature Medicine study investigating why more younger adults are developing cancer.

Researchers found accelerated biological ageing was associated with significantly higher risk of early-onset #lungcancer and identified a link between immune ageing and lung cancer risk.

Lung cancer is rarely central to discussions about rising cancer rates in younger adults. This study suggests it should be.

In FAHIC-Lung, our team at @CampusBioMedico and @PoliclinCampus developed a structured, weighted family history score identifying patients with enriched familial cancer risk, to support targeted referral to genetic counseling & germline testing.
