Trump's Deranged Authoritarian Coup: Firing the FEC to Annihilate Democracy and Rig the 2026 Midterms
In a psychotic escalation straight out of a dictator's playbook, Donald Trump has now fired the three remaining members of the Federal Election Commission after his disgusting voter suppression bill, the SAVE Act, was rejected.
Drunk on power and protected by a spineless, corrupt Supreme Court that just handed him the keys to the kingdom, Trump has obliterated the last remaining guardrail against total electoral domination. The FEC — the independent agency that polices campaign finance and prevents outright cheating — is now gone. Destroyed. Neutralized.
This madman didn't get the laws he wanted to rig the game, so he simply eliminated the referees entirely.
With the 2026 midterms just 100 days away, Trump has removed every institutional obstacle standing between him and absolute control of the ballot box. This isn't politics anymore. This is a full-blown authoritarian takeover happening in real time.
He's not even pretending. This is a naked, shameless power grab by a deranged tyrant who sees democracy as nothing more than an annoying speed bump on his path to unchecked rule. Congress won't help him cheat? Fine — he'll fire the watchdogs. Courts won’t stop him? Even better.
America is now staring directly into the abyss. A rogue president has just dismantled the final firewall protecting free and fair elections, and the country is sleepwalking toward one of the darkest, most illegitimate election cycles in its history.
This is how democracies die — not with tanks in the streets, but with a smiling autocrat in a suit signing termination letters while the institutions meant to stop him cheer him on or cower in fear.
We are on the precipice — and this dangerous, unhinged madman is shoving us over the edge.
Dear World,
Please, never forget these past 26 days we spent together just watching matches and talking ball before the world's most hated man figured out a way to make the World Cup all about himself. I am so sorry.
Sincerely,
Just a regular American.
He now wants the historic Cherry Trees that were gifted from Japan in 1910 REMOVED, along with the bike path so he can build a golf course.
Guy's! HE'S PLANNING ON CUTTING DOWN THE CHERRY TREES. THE FUCKING CHERRY TREES OF DC.
This better not happen.
MAJOR BREAKING: The U.S. Supreme Court has struck down Donald Trump’s executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship, ruling that children born in the United States to parents who are unlawfully or temporarily present are U.S. citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment.
BREAKING: House Republicans just advanced their voter suppression bill in the Rules Committee.
If the Rule passes tomorrow, the SAVE Act will automatically be added to the National Defense Authorization Act when it passes.
This bill will make it harder to register to vote, especially if you’re a woman, live in a rural community, serve in the military, or are a Tribal voter.
If you’re wealthy enough to have a passport, you’re fine. But more than 21 million Americans don’t have one. Under the SAVE Act, a REAL driver’s license in many states or other common forms of ID wouldn’t be enough to register.
Don’t call this a voter ID bill. A true voter ID law could accept a REAL ID driver’s license.
This isn’t about election security. It’s about making it harder for eligible Americans to vote.
Supreme Court today: We'll allow Alabama Republicans to change the congressional map in the primary election even though absentee voting has literally already started
Supreme Court last December: November's too late to strike down the GOP's map in TX's March primary election!!
8 days.
That’s how long it took Tennessee Republicans to gut a majority-Black Memphis district after SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act.
Louisiana, Alabama, and South Carolina are next.
They’re not even hiding it anymore.
Justice Elena Kagan excoriates SCOTUS's conservative justices for gutting the Voting Rights Act:
"The Callais requirements have thus laid the groundwork for the largest reduction in minority representation since the era following Reconstruction."

Trump could appoint two more Supreme Court justices—cementing a Court that could threaten our rights and favor billionaires over everyone else for decades to come.
It’s time to ring the alarm bell and push back by holding Trump and Congressional Republicans accountable in the midterm elections.

Historians may remember the performance as one of the most unflinching acts of musical and theatrical resistance mounted against Trump—or any President, for that matter—in the nation’s history https://t.co/7Mlt14MvUG
That's it. That's the best picture from Saturday's No Kings protests in the USA.
The literal Statue of Liberty being detained by police. It doesn't get much more poetic than this.
Even using the right wing conservative Heritage Foundation’s research, there is no justification for Trump's SAVE Act.
It is voter suppression, designed for the insidious purpose of staying in power regardless of what the majority of American voters want.
But the Republicans have to dress the SAVE Act up as if it is preserving "election integrity." Those are lies - don't fall for it.
