21 years at @NRDC, now @AJW to solve our climate challenges in an equitable way. Some of my work is in NY, some in DC, some elsewhere. All opinions my own.
Now that we have commitments to electrify buses and decarbonize transportation, we need a CFS to help fleets transition cost-effectively and to ensure clean fuels and vehicles go to the communities that most need them! Bravo @nylcv and @julietighe17
Adopting a clean fuel standard in New York will accelerate our transition away from fossil fuels toward electric vehicles and other renewable fuels by shifting more than $1 billion towards clean transportation.

@nylcv@julietighe17 Now that we have commitments to electrify school and transit buses and to decarbonize transportation, we need policies like a CFS to help fleets make the transition cost-effectively and reduce emissions in communities and statewide. Bravo @julietighe17 and @nylcv!
We agree with @greenwatchdogNY on most environmental issues impacting New Yorkers, but they are wrong for opposing a Clean Fuel Standard for many reasons #thread.
California’s low carbon fuel standard is creating opportunities for heavy-duty electric trucks to meet freight hauling needs while reducing emissions. Adopting a CFS would create similar opportunities to clean the transportation sector here in NY. More: https://t.co/3g4thOUhc0
By adopting a clean fuel standard, as proposed in the Senate one-house, we can accelerate our transition to #EVs and help build the necessary infrastructure to support the electrification of NY’s transportation sector. Read more: https://t.co/5xJAtnqxns
To hit our climate targets and get off fossil fuels, a #cleanfuelstandard is critical - the CA CFS cut 5B gallons of fossil fuels in 2019 & '20. Thank you @SenatorParker and @toddkaminsky for your leadership & the @NYSSenate for including the CFS in the proposed 1-house budget!
We applaud the Senate for taking the first step toward removing harmful fossil fuels from our transportation sector by including a CFS in their proposed one-house budget. Thank you @SenatorParker and @toddkaminsky for prioritizing clean transportation! https://t.co/De2gnhSnng
If you aren't for a clean fuel standard, you are for fossil fuels. Thanks to a CFS, California reduced fossil fuel use by 5 BILLION gallons in 2019 and 2020 alone.
Thank you @kevinparkernyc@toddkaminsky and many others for fighting to clean up the transportation sector
@RorySmith Moneyball taught that you can use data and control to win most of the time, but not at a specific moment. Despite the narrative that MC is built to win the CL final, MC is really built to be at the top of the Premier League table most of the time, which is what they mostly do.
@Costa4NY My dear friend, Costa, Penny and I are heartbroken to read of Lori's passing. We send you our deepest condolences, and we pray that good memories and the love of your family and your many friends sustains and provides some comfort to you and Niko in this incredibly sad time.
The number of Americans who feel passionately about climate change is rising sharply, and the issue appears likely to play a more important role in this year’s election than ever before, a new survey shows.

Air pollution is the biggest #environmental risk for early death, responsible for more deaths than AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria combined.

@HelenRosenthal@NYCMayor And (2) less methane emissions from the landfill from NYC garbage (methane is a much stronger short-term climate pollutant than CO2)
This is a small budget item but an important one...
@HelenRosenthal@NYCMayor Curbside composting should be a no-brainer for @NYCMayor for EJ and climate reasons: (1) less trash trucked to landfills means less diesel pollution on NYC streets and in the low-income communties of color that live adjacent to the landfills that will get this unnecessary waste
California has adopted the nation's first electric truck standard, requiring trucks to go emissions-free by 2045. This is a big victory for #climatechange and for clean air, especially in communities that have long suffered from freight emissions. https://t.co/k8zXCk55R5
After this shock of clean air, what do people want? More clean air. A survey in 5 countries finds huge support for stricter air quality rules. https://t.co/57E3lbeM0f
