Yesterday, May 19, @TeamPillen proclaimed May as #RenewableFuelsMonth — and it also comes during Clean Air Month, a reminder of the important role cleaner-burning fuels can play in protecting public health and supporting American energy.
The House recently passed HR 1346 advancing year-round E15, boosting fuel access, cost savings, and cleaner options. The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration and potential final approval.
This Renewable Fuels Month we're recognizing how renewable fuels are already part of Nebraska’s transportation system.
Ethanol, biodiesel, and renewable diesel—made from crops like corn, soybeans, and sorghum—are helping power vehicles and fleets today.
As the second-largest ethanol producer in the country, Nebraska plays a major role in America’s renewable fuels industry. In 2025, the use of ethanol blends like E10 helped Nebraska drivers save $300 million, showing how RFs support affordability and energy resilience.
Happy Renewable Fuels Month, Nebraska!
It's May and we are joining Nebraska's ag industry in celebrating cleaner transportation powered by a mix of homegrown energy sources.
Multiple fuels. One goal: a more efficient transportation system.
NEC4 was proud to recently host our Renewable Fuels Summit, bringing together industry leaders to explore clean transportation solutions for Nebraska fleets. Attendees discussed fuel options and real-world adoption strategies. Thank you to all of our sponsors and participants!
An NEC4 stakeholder, Lincoln Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Lincoln–Lancaster County Planning Department are hosting an upcoming Public Open Houses to gather feedback and share information regarding various subjects in sustainability and local decision making.
Happy County Government Month! Nebraska’s counties help drive a greener state through clean transportation and alternative fuels. NEC4 supports counties with education, technical assistance, and more. Let’s collaborate to strengthen Nebraska’s energy economy! #NCGM#WeAreCounties
On March 27, the EPA announced record Renewable Fuel Standard volumes, increasing biomass‑based diesel targets for 2026–2027. The move expands ethanol blends, biodiesel, renewable diesel, and propane as ready‑now options to cut transportation emissions.
