Centennial girls basketball coach Scott DeJong calls it a career. And what a career it was. 7 state titles; 6 at Ankeny, 1 at Centennial.

DeJong says it was a difficult decision, and he's sad, but happy to have a great run.

The 64-year old DeJong tells me he turned in his letter of retirement today and will spend part of his time mowing the golf course at Talons of Tuscany. :-)

Coaching legend Scott DeJong of @ACHSGBBALL has retired after 37 seasons, the last 12 at Centennial. He won more than 700 games in his career and holds the Iowa record with 7 state championships. We'll have much more coming later.
