Shaykh ibn Uthaymin رحمه الله, said:

"There is no harm in a person acquiring books that he hopes to benefit from in the present or the future. If you want them to be wealth then they are wealth. If you want them to be instructional knowledge then they are instructional knowledge.

If you want them to be spoils for those who inherit from you after your death for whomever Allaah wishes guidance for them to read them then they are that.

They (i.e., books) are the best thing a person can acquire in his life regardless if he benefits from them immediately in the present or if he doesn't benefit from them immediately and he doesn't benefit from them until the future then there is no harm in that whatsoever.'

Amazing Cognitive Capacity!

When it comes to #memory, I doubt even Dr. Huberman @hubermanlab has encountered anything quite like the tradition of the #Muslims.

ash-Shaʿbī never wrote anything down due to the strength of his memory. It was said that the knowledge he forgot was so vast that, had someone else memorized only what he forgot, they would have become a scholar. No narration was ever mentioned in his presence except that he memorized it, and he never needed to ask for it to be repeated.

He (ash-Sha’bī r) said:

“If I wanted to - I could narrate to you for a whole month and not repeat myself.”
