@FionaCLoud Many people will wait until sick enough to go to hospital increasing the strain on the NHS simply because they can't afford to pay the GP. Some people definitely can't afford it especially long term ill and clinically vulnerable people.
@UKKidney I am disappointed with PKB it is not as user friendly as Patient View was and is not going to encourage usage by patients I will discuss my concerns with the information officer at UHB and try and present them to UKKA in hope of some reworking.
I just signed the petition calling on Black history to be part of the curriculum in all UK schools. Will you sign too? https://t.co/uXwI5GBElo via @38_degrees
@Tami5174Tami@HeidiJarin@lisaproctor8@idasgupta7@renalpages I see packman, what looks like rock cake, and one I call Lemon Delight. we know how to eat cake at Runcorn Road, and you know the way, my mouth is watering expectations are high.
I've just signed the open letter asking the NHS Pay Review Body to do the right thing and and recommend a real pay rise that NHS staff deserve - not the insulting 1% government figure. Will you add your name? #NHSPayRise#NHSPRB https://t.co/CCcvFBGSzk
I become enemies with myself when I hear my voice on tape, the media department at Birmingham University did an video interview about things that block access to home dialysis, and they sent me a copy as soon as I heard my voice I got rid of it.
@renalpages But as a diabetic better not to cook a lot otherwise you are liable to eat them, I just make enough batter for two or three. I find it's easier to avoid sweet stuff if you don't have any at home, although I have gotten dressed in the middle of the night to go and buy ice-cream.
As well as affecting existing patients, Covid-19 is leading to more people having kidney problems like acute kidney injury. This is when your kidneys suddenly stop working properly. This #WorldKidneyDay let's put kidneys on everyone's radar. Share our posts to help #KidneysMatter
Transplants save lives but they don't always last forever. Their average lifespan is 10-15 years. And did you know they're not a cure? Patients have kidney disease for life. Share our facts to help raise awareness of kidneys this #WorldKidneyDay#KidneysMatter
I find myself waving at the end of virtual meetings as well, I think it happens because at a face to face meeting people usually hang around for a bit afterwards.
@helenbevan@clairehubb Had 2 meetings today and I waved at the end of both - was the first one to do so and it felt awkward but automatic too - do women do it more often then men? And if so why ?
Unbelievably impressed with this latest ultrasound technology from @BallaterMedical
The whole US package is all in the probe and wirelessly connects to iPad/phone etc. Gamechanger. Perfect for my vascular access practice for mapping vessels, AVF/Graft flow studies etc

If this is to happen we need clear consistent messages and guidance directly from the government with proper financial support and protection for those on the #shielding list
