@LifeStarMedia She absolutely was overrated. But if you threw out every white person that was imitation black folks, there wouldn’t be any white artists left. Elvis, Clapton, the Beatles.
I didn't grow up listening to Janis Joplin and I don't know her music... But honestly... Listening to this makes me wonder if she's overrated... Cuz this honestly just sounds like an imitation of old Black American Blues and Rock music/singers.
Dennis Hastert just died. He was the former Republican Speaker of the House. The media is reporting that he went to prison for violating banking laws, but the banking laws he violated were about manipulating records so he could pay off teenage boys he had sexually abused. He was a pedophile, and we shouldn't be dancing around that.
Black people are mysteriously being lynched; there is a high black unemployment rate that no one talks about, and also, there is a black recession happening, but some of you Black creators with a large platforms are willing to do the dirty work for people who hate you.
The problem with what Dr. Hill’s wife said is not so much about external validation. It’s the fact that men see a problem they can’t fix, and they feel worthless. For the less educated and highly emotionally reactive, they project their feelings of inadequacy on a situation that honestly has nothing to do with them.
Plenty of women do not like how they feel after they’ve had babies. It’s a very common sentiment.
He threw the paint in his pregnant wife's face and hugged his friend. Then we say that straight men are homoaffectionate and they foam at the mouth because they don't even know what that word means.
My friend just told me she canceled Alexa after she was talking to her husband about her concerns regarding AI and Alexa chimed in, unsolicited, “I disagree.“
‼️ICYMI: The Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History (@NMAAHC) dedicated an entire season of its Collected series to “The Musical Genius of Black Women,” using Beyoncé as a contemporary anchor to explore more than a century of Black women shaping American popular music.
The season opens with an episode literally titled “To Sweat Like Beyoncé,” inspired by curator and musicologist Dr. Krystal Klingenberg seeing the RENAISSANCE World Tour and examining the sheer labor, precision, historical reference + musical knowledge embedded in Beyoncé’s performance.
From there, the Smithsonian traces that history through Ella Fitzgerald, Tina Turner, Donna Summer, and Bernice Johnson Reagon, exploring the innovation, labor, performance and legacy of Black women across generations.
And then it circles back to Beyoncé. The final episode uses COWBOY CARTER as part of a larger conversation about the future of Black women in music, connecting what Beyoncé inherited from earlier generations to the musical territory Black women continue to reclaim and redefine today.
Her career becomes a lens through which one of America’s major historical institutions examines a century of Black women’s contributions to American music.
You know what, I’m going to say it because this has gone too far. The continued obsession with perpetuating the narrative that the WNBA cannot be successful or well attended without Caitlin Clark—and using Black players as the foil in that story—needs to be publicly criticized.
Bill Gates: people saying AI will create more jobs don’t understand what’s coming.
“Once AI becomes reliable enough to do the work, it starts replacing people.”
“Once you replace human cognition as a scarce element, you blow it away.”
“Working 24 hours a day, reading more, knowing every language.”
“This isn’t like the PC. This is like evolutionary history.”
“It’s like the aliens really are here. They just didn’t come in spacecraft.”

Because neither she nor her team were good enough to advance in the WNBA Playoffs.
Thought I'd share these stats, since she wants us to talk about basketball now.
