We look forward to seeing residents and community stakeholders as we continue our work ensuring accountability.
Proud to have our BAC Commissioners represented at this year’s State of the Schools. Their commitment to transparency, accountability, and stronger school facilities continues to move our District forward.
CMSD has announced a plan to merge or move 39 schools next school year. If approved by the school board, the district would close 18 school buildings, reducing the total schools in CMSD by 29. The board is set to vote on Dec. 9.

School attendance remains a top priority for our administration. We’re proud to partner with CMSD and the Darius Garland Foundation to ensure our students not only show up but make every moment in the classroom count.
Next month, CMSD will announce its recommendations for school closures and consolidations as part of the Building Better Futures initiative. We put together maps of K-8 schools and high schools comparing enrollment trends and building conditions.
