It is the end of an era. I created the original @BYUCougars app in 2009. That run has just come to an end.

BYU has a new company managing its website which includes an awesome new app. So go update your BYU Cougars app for all the app users out there.

The story of how I came to build the app began in 2009. I had just founded my app development agency in 2008. My good friend @BroberDave got me a meeting with @dufftittle. I was a new unproven company but Duff agreed to meet with me.

A little background. I went to BYU and worked for BYU from 2000-2007 and my blood runs blue.

I asked Duff if he would let me build an iPhone app for them. I did it for free but it was a huge opportunity for a new company trying to build a brand to do something big.

Duff gave me the opportunity to build the app. And I think we built something pretty great between Dave's design and our dev team. And then BYU became my biggest "client" which opened so many doors for me.

I'm very proud of the iOS and Android app we created. It has been a privilege to get to be a little part of BYU Sports for the last 15 years.

I will forever be grateful for the chance they gave me.

And to people trying to build an agency and build your brand. Sometimes doing a big job for a big client for free or heavily discounted can be the thing that gets you to the next level. It truly opened up so many doors for me and lead to me running one of the premier app development agencies in Utah for 15 years.

@TheToddHale @BYUfootball Clever Coding no long develops the app. There is a new BYU Cougars website that has a new companion app. You should be able to just update the app in the app store if you are on iOS and get the new app.
