@JillWetzler It's the opposite of conniving, imo! It's explicit, opt-in ovvert support. Sponsorship is earned & can be lost if they're not living up to expectations. (eg, I had a sponsee who turned out to be duplicitous, so I dropped her.) That's more #meritocracy than exists in most orgs.
