Hon. TAYEBWA THOMAS
Bwana hon @Thomas_Tayebwa, my proposal in the next parliament is that we start a tourism week, like one we did once under @RebeccaKadagaUG.
That week, we shall engage MPs about how tourism can get their voters out of poverty. We shall have private sector members exhibit at parliement, members can have one on one discussions.
We shall identify tourism attractions across the country and educate members of parliament about how those can generate wealth.
We shall discuss the possibility of members of parliement to invest in tourism and business in general.
We also want to make sure many of members of parliement come to kasese during @RwenzoriMarathn just to see how activities like Rwenzori marathon create massive economic opportunities.
My desire to see that each leader is able to atleast employ 50 people from their investment from their earnings. That will help MPs understand how the economy actually works. Some do.
I can’t wait to engage you after the election hon @Thomas_Tayebwa soon.
How The African Corruption Pyramid Is Built (A Secondary School
Civics Reader)
1. The President steals.
2. The president brings in his family, clan/ethic community, cronies to eat.
3. The president’s family, cronies/clan and community bring in their relatives and associates to eat.
4. The groups that haven’t got a cut of the corrupt cake become restless and angry, and the president and his people fear it could cost them power.
5. The president brings representatives from other clans, ethnic kingpins, and political groups to the table to eat and steal.
6. The new eaters share the corrupt spoils with their sub-groups and constituents.
7. The corruption train that left the station with 250 people now has 2.5 million people eating small and big, and stealing from the taxpayers.
8. Then you find every 1 in 10 citizens of a medium-sized corrupt country has their “good thief”, and critics of corruption are isolated, dismissed as disgruntled and foreign agents.
9. The country has crossed the point of redemption. You have a giant corruption triangle.
10. All that is left is for the whole thing to crumble. Only the questions of WHEN, HOW and the scale of the CASUALTIES remain
@KakandeAlex Brilliant idea, the management factor is the icing on the cake. I am conversant with this space on the large developer side side managing a project in Garuga, Entebbe. You need a bit of policy support to create certain advantages if this is to work. Happy to share ideas!
#Football, the most popular sport in the world has no home in form of a stadium in 2023, or many other sports for that matter!
The state of a social and commercial opportunity such as #SPORTS shows how unpatriotic we've become with the resources Uganda has been blessed with. #FFT
If it was only stupid people who supported dictatorships, they wouldn't last. Their long survival owes a lot to the service & devotion they get from smart, educated, well-travelled people who read the right books, have beautiful wives/husbands, and go to church/mosque faithfully.
Of Mbarara City, The People that are really good at what they do don’t talk about it very much. It’s the true sign of service delivery and leadership. The day is Friday. Let your voice be heard through your vote. HON BOONA EMMA
