Daughter sprained her ankle and son tripped hitting his neck on a step at school today.
Kids at bedtime: “Mom Mom, Mom! Mommmm!!!”
@MeganEJudy: “Okay, everybody hurts.”
Me in my loudest singing voice, just trying to help: “Everybody huuurrr-”
Her: “PLEASE. STOP.”
"If you can imagine as a judge sitting behind a curtain, the only thing you see is what's handed through the curtain. That's how it is for us, and we're limited to that. So sometimes CASA workers come along and just hold the curtains back." https://t.co/0nLOJKRiRq @heartofmocasa
A 2-star QB scrambling for potentially the national-championship-winning touchdown on 4th down in his hometown against his hometown team after winning the Heisman for the most losing program of all time while his mother with MS screams for joy from her seat is possibly the limit of how good sports can get
Long, but worth a listen: #Mizzou HC Eli Drinkwitz talks about the state of college football, right now, as it relates to the College Sports Commission Agreement (which still hasn't been signed).
"I understand the national sentiment because of the salary ranges of head coaches that it feels like we're complaining...but we're trying to sound warning bells...There's a warning that the system that we're in is really sick right now. College football is sick...there's showing signs of this thing really cracking moving forward."
UPDATE: The campaign to repeal Missouri’s gerrymandered map turned in 300K signatures to put it on the ballot. But Denny Hoskins says that won’t stop the map from going into effect — a dramatic break from precedent that will set off a legal fight. #moleg

ESPN promoting its sportsbook while covering the arrests of three NBA figures in a gambling scandal perfectly captures how much sports media has been captured by betting.
The industry can’t even talk about what gambling is doing to fans without selling it at the same time.
This from @AsteadWH is the whole ballgame: “A candidate in today’s day and age needs to be able to explain ideas in a 30-second vertical social media video, a three-minute television hit and a three-hour long-form podcast.”
Can’t do all 3? Can’t hang in 2025.
OREM, UT (AP) Charlie Kirk, the CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, was in critical condition at a Utah hospital Wednesday after being shot at a college event, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press. A suspect is in custody.
Missouri House Republicans pass a 7-1 map. Minority Leader Ashley Aune notes it will have the likely effect of expelling Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, the only ordained minister in the delegation. Speaker Jon Patterson votes against the map — while facilitating its passage.
Big brother: “Is it my turn? … Is it my turn? … Is it my turn? … Declan, is it my turn?”
Little brother, overcoming pressure and distraction: “It’ll be your turn when I say it’s your turn.”
Why? Citizens going to college leave with more debt, get married later, buy houses later and decide to wait to have (or not have) kids because they can't afford it. Natural growth becomes natural decline. Affordable higher education and community colleges are a big big deal.
Listening to a demographer at @MCCATweet's Trustee & Executive Leadership Conference. U.S. is projected to have more deaths than births by 2033. It's already happening in Missouri. He also points out when govt funds education (specifically, higher education), birth rates go up.
NOW: @GovMikeKehoe calls a special session to dedicate resources to Missourians affected by storms since March, a stadium deal to entice the Chiefs/Royals to stay in Missouri, and take another look at some budget items that did not pass. Lawmakers return on Monday #moleg
