As a momentous week ends, I want to again thank Dr. Clint Pressley for his excellent job leading and presiding these last two years as SBC President. He has led with great skill and character. He leaves big shoes to fill (and a big wardrobe budget). I know all Southern Baptists join me in thanking him for his service and wish he and Connie some much deserved rest in the days ahead.
SBC Reflection 3
God bless Mike Law.
Southern Baptists rightly passed the Truth & Unity Amendment, moved by Dr. Mohler..
This has been a 4-year battle to deal with the increasing problem of women pastors, which is really a battle for the authority & sufficiency of the Bible.
Many men deserve public recognition for all they’ve done to help our work at @BaptistLeaders, but this morning I want to thank one in particular: @jrwhitehead
His analysis & commentary on our podcast, his writing, and his advocacy for Baptists and our Baptist system is indispensable!
When I say that the “Center for Baptist Leadership wouldn’t work without Jon” I mean it 100%!
So thankful for his persistence, courage, character, and friendship.
He is the best of Southern Baptists
I am so thankful to the 2026 Southern Baptist Convention and for the overwhelming vote in favor of the Truth and Unity Amendment. Brothers and sisters, we must move on to do it again in Indianapolis in 2027. We press on!
I’m thankful for the overwhelming support to move ahead so that we can vote on the Truth and Unity Amendment tomorrow morning. Plan to be there by 8am to vote for the amendment. Let’s get this thing done. Please be in the room early—ready to vote—so we can get this done.
Southern Baptists: We won one big vote today. We have another big vote to win tomorrow. As Dr. Mohler says, "it's time to get this done"
Be in the room first thing in the morning, and let's pass the Truth & Unity Amendment to defend God's Word on who can be a pastor in the SBC!
Now that we’re doing the thing in the SBC where everyone comes out to support what grassroots conservatives proposed years ago…
Can we do financial transparency next?
May God bless this steadfast pastor, this faithful Gospel church, and the members who were traumatized, including children and youth. This was nothing less than the desecration of Christian worship.
I normally do not post to social media on the Lord’s Day, but the unspeakably evil intrusion of a leftist mob into a Christian worship service today in Minneapolis must be called out for what it is—and Federal authorities should be fast and effective in response.
I join with many others in condemning the storming of an SBC Church in Minneapolis by anti-ICE protesters. The federal government should act to protect the civil rights of law abiding citizens exercising their right to worship.
We agree with Dr. Mohler that removing egalitarian churches like Fielder is an existential issue for the survival of the SBC!
We tried to sound the alarm with the same warning a few weeks ago when we had @marcminter on our podcast.

Southern Baptists deserve better than our current leadership class.
We have too rich a history, too great a mission, too many resources, and too powerful a Gospel to squander it all on the denominational machine.

God has had mercy on this nation by giving us the current administration rather than the evil alternative we faced last November. How can His people fail to see this! How can we fail to pray & work for the welfare of our neighbors! How can we not preach Christ boldly!!
