Since it’s the first day of a new year, we made a list of resolutions for @Carleton_U:
1) Divest the $16M that is currently invested in the fossil fuel industry
2) Reinvest these funds in sustainable and just alternatives 🌎
The votes on this motion give citizens of Ottawa a very clear read on which Councillors deny the urgency of the climate crisis. You have a detailed climate plan and you are not funding it. You have not assessed critical infrastructure climate risks. #ottnews
As an alumni, I support this action at @Carleton_U today. I brought a motion to the city of #Ottawa which we passed and staff are now tasked with working towards divestment in fossil fuel holdings. I would encourage you to attend today. #ottnews#ClimateActionNow
