In January 2024, China’s National Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction Trading Market was officially launched. By the end of November 18, 2025, cumulative CCER trading volume reached 4.56 million tonnes, with a transaction value of RMB344 million.
By the end of October 2025, the cumulative trading volume of Carbon Emission Allowance reached 770 million tonnes, with a transaction value of RMB51.82 billion. The transaction value for the year of 2024 alone amounted to RMB18.11 billion, setting a new historical record.
