Over the next six months, 451,000 people are expected to die from El Niño heat, on top of the deaths the climate crisis is already causing. The worst of this catastrophe will be felt in Nigeria, India, Indonesia, Brazil, and Sudan, countries that did the least to cause this and were looted for centuries by the ones that did. The U.S. is in the top 20, with 3,500 deaths of our own.
