Let’s grieve each Palestinian life lost.
And let’s grieve each Israeli life lost.
Every human being is equally precious and made in the image of God.
Let’s do all we can to work for peace, and for justice.
Public education is at the heart of what makes our nation special: the ability to learn and grow to pursue your dreams, no matter your race, place, or income.
Texas ranks 43rd in per-student funding, and our teachers are underpaid by $7,500 compared to the national average. Increasing teacher pay and incentives for new teachers should be our priority. Instead, a special session has been called to push forward vouchers. Vouchers will only make things worse. They will remove resources from public schools, leading to larger class sizes, lower teacher pay, and worse outcomes for Texas students. #TexasDeservesBetter #TXLege #HD100 #SayNoToVouchers #TXed
As we prepare for the upcoming special session on Monday, let's be clear about education savings accounts, vouchers, or whatever you want to call them: they're a scam, plain and simple. They siphon public funds away from the schools serving most Texas kids while benefitting only a privileged few. We must prioritize public education for all, not a select few.

Being an instructional coach means having difficult conversations that may stir up emotions.
But it's important to feel the emotions and metabolize them, instead of avoiding them.

When someone tells you they have not read a famous classic book, instead of saying, “I can’t believe you haven’t read it!”, you can say, “I wish I was you and I could read it again for the first time.”
Instead of making people feel inadequate, show them the joys of reading.
If our Christianity causes us to treat other human beings like enemies rather than like neighbors, we have deeply misunderstood Jesus somewhere along the way.
Public school, as a whole, isn't failing our kids. Society is failing to remember what public school was designed for.
We've been expecting more and more from public schools that have well exceeded the funding provided.
Understand this Prius was never meant to be a Ferrari.
Vouchers don't lead to better academic outcomes, instead they weaken public schools by draining resources without delivering the promised improvements.
Instead of siphoning off funds, let's invest in our public schools, empower teachers, and enhance educational opportunities for all students!
