OSU: “Trust us.”
Also OSU (allegedly): small NIL donations aren’t paying athletes… they’re getting routed to the “Excellence Fund” to plug deficits.
After they ran Shrum out in the middle of the same kind of money-handling controversy, you’d think transparency would be priority #1. Guess not.
And here’s the perfect cover: “We can’t show the ledger because NIL payments are sensitive.” Convenient — because it also keeps everyone from seeing whether donor money is being redirected.
This is simple: publish the accounting without names.
NIL in. Athlete payments out. Fees. Transfers. Monthly totals.
If it’s clean, it's easy to prove it. If it’s not, people deserve to know before giving another dime.
