Chlorine is no longer discharging. The situation has been deemed safe.
Responders quickly cleared the immediate area and students were sheltered in place as a precautionary measure at Clinton High and Middle Schools. Thanks to the Fayetteville Hazmat Team for their assistance.
A Chlorine gas leak has occurred at a well site near Clinton High and Middle Schools. City and County responders are on site with school leadership and continue to monitor the situation. A specialized Regional Response Team is responding from Fayetteville. All kids are safe.
City of Clintonโs Emergency Operation Center is ongoing for the duration of the storm. Please adhere to the Cityโs 7p-7a curfew for safety reasons. There are still numerous trees and power lines down in the area.
