Brandon played a great round of golf today and fired a 78, which included a front nine 38 with one birdie. His solid round helped him climb 29 spots up the leaderboard and finish in 31st place out of 108 golfers. Congratulations to Brandon on the impressive round and the solid finish overall. It was a great experience for Brandon and his coaches and we are looking forward to taking the entire team to the finals next year!
@LenaweeLodes
We are underway for round 2 of the D3 Finals. Brandon is off to a great start again his is Even Par through his first six holes. He just missed a 20-foot eagle chance on the par-5 7th hole. One birdie one bogey so far, and moving up the board. His up to 36th place now, up 24 spots.
Our 18th and final tournament of the 2026 golf season starts in a few hours. The MHSAA Division 3 State Finals at Bedford Valley is upon us.
18 teams of 5 golfers and 18 individual qualifiers from the entire lower peninsula of Michigan will tee it up today in Battle Creek. Out of the 18 individual qualifiers that made it here, Brandon is ranked 5th based on state ranking of 18-hole scoring average:
#1 - Reid Schisler - Saginaw Valley Lutheran - 2.375
#8 - Grant Schrotenboer - Saugatuck - 5.402
#15 - Bryce Wieferich - Clare - 6.581
#20 - Titan Carter - Shelby - 7.052

#33 - Will Orme - Grandville Calvin Christian - 8.323
#63 - Connor Zimmerman - Ida - 10.384
9 of the top 10 teams ranked in the state are all here. The only top 10 team in the state that did not qualify was our Clinton team sadly. That just proves how strong the Regional was at Cascades. Lumen Christi, Essexville Garber, and Grosse Ile are your top-3 ranked teams and are paired up together.
Brandon is excited for the challenge!
@LenaweeLodes
Brandon was able to get a full practice round in at Bedford Valley this evening. The greens are going to be a serious challenge for all kids tomorrow at the MHSAA Finals. They are very large, firm and extremely fast down hill. Some downhill putts will be impossible to keep a few feet from the hole. Bunkers are hard and dry. The tees are set as a black (Pro Tips) and Green combo totaling 6,500 yards. The course will be a serious challenge. There are some birdie chances though on the front 9. Tee time is 9:00 tomorrow morning, and Brandon starts on the 559-yard par-5 4th hole.
Even though the final results at the Regionals did not go our way, our team had an amazing season full of championships and incredible individual performances that need to be recognized.
Beyond the trophies and awards, what made this season special was the commitment, sportmanship, and team chemistry displayed by these young men every day. They represented Clinton with class, worked relentlessly to improve, and built a season that will be remembered for years to come.
A special thank you to our seniors, Robert McDonald and Mason Diaz, for their leadership and dedication to the program. You helped set the standard for future Redwolves golfers.
Thank you to our players, assistant coaches, parents, and supporters for making this season so memorable.
Clinton's Brandon Ruhl will be the only area golfer heading to the state meet after qualifying individually at the regional meet on Wednesday: https://t.co/4Oos6l8p4Z
Congratulations to Junior Brandon Ruhl on qualifying for the MHSAA Division 3 State Finals after an outstanding performance today at the Division 3 Regional Finals at Cascades Golf Course! Brandon fired a 79 to finish 8th overall out of 96 golfers and punched his ticket to Bedford Valley next weekend. Brandon is the first Clinton golfer to qualify for the State Finals since Jacob Rothman in 2023.
After a difficult front nine, Brandon showed incredible toughness and composure, rallying with a one-over par 36 on the back nine, including two clutch birdies late in the round when the pressure was at its highest. Brandon’s leadership, determination, and work ethic have helped lead an incredible season for Redwolves Golf, and now he’ll have the opportunity to represent Clinton and the LCAA on the biggest stage next week.
@Clinton_Golf put together a strong performance at the MHSAA Regional Finals, falling just one spot short of qualifying as a team.
Congratulations to Jr. Brandon Ruhl on qualifying for the MHSAA State Finals as an individual! ⛳️🏌️
Great season, boys!
The boys battled hard all the way to the end, but we ended up 3 shots short of achieving our goal. Our target score was 330, and we finished with 339. We finished on the most difficult hole on the course, the long par-4 17th hole. Our team was 11 over par on that one hole combined, and that was the difference from us making it. The boys are devastated but they put up a great fight. They were holding the 3rd spot the entire day without their "A" games, and proved they are one of the best teams in the state.
Leading the way for the Redwolves was Junior Brandon Ruhl with a 79, good for 8th place overall out of 96 golfers. Brandon had a tough front nine 43, but rallied on the back nine with an one-over par 36, with 2 late birdies. His 79 earned him an individual spot in the state finals at Bedford Valley next week, along with Ida's Connor Zimmerman, who shot a 78. The two of them will represent the LCAA at the State Finals. Other scores:
Robert McDonald (Sr) - 83 - 20th
Vinny Skidmore (So) - 83 - 20th
Owen Wright (Jr) - 94 - 62nd
Cyle McLeod (So) - 98 - 77th
Golf can be a punishing game sometimes and the difference can be just one swing here or there. The team had an amazing season and hopefully they will be able to remember all of the Championships and great accomplishments they had once this one wears off. I am proud of all of them.
@LenaweeLodes
The Redwolves are headed to the Regional Tournament tomorrow with one goal in mind: earn a spot at the State Finals.
This group has put in the work all season long, competing with consistency, determination, and team-first mentality. Now, they’ll take the next step against some of the top teams in the region for a chance to continue their postseason run.
The top 3 schools will move on to the state finals, along with the top 3 individuals from schools not in the top 3. Here are the top 12 teams competing in this Regional Final, based on state ranking and iWR rating (9-hole scoring average index vs par):

2 - Grosse Ile - 11.042
14 - Clinton - 19.204
22 - Flat Rock - 22.606
23 - Hanover Horton - 22.645
24 - Ida - 23.149
28 - Whiteford - 24.609
37 - Brooklyn CC - 27.042
42 - Onsted - 28.528
44 - Napoleon - 29.167
45 - Dundee - 29.771
49 - Adrian Madison - 31.824
The team is focused and ready to complete its last goal of the season tomorrow.
The team has turned their full attention to preparing for a state finals run starting with the Regional Finals. Instead of taking the day off yesterday, the team traveled to Cascades GC in Jackson for a practice round in preparation for Wednesday's Regional. The team had a laid back, fun and productive day working as a team to share course knowledge, strategies and club selection thoughts on each hole. We were also able to have each player hit multiple putts and hit extra chips and bunker shots on all the holes. The team will have one more practice session today at Rustic Glen before we head back to Cascades tomorrow morning.
