@LeahNTorres No, it wasn't willy-nilly. Pharaoh had enslaved the Israelites and refused to let them go. Pharaoh had nine chances without any Egyptian deaths to let the Israelites go and changed his mind each time. God is patient with sinners but his patience is not absolute.
@LeahNTorres You should spend more time studying philosophy as it relates to categories of killing. 1) God doesn't kill willy-nilly but always has morally relevant reasons for doing so, and 2) God is the giver of life and has the authority to take it.
@EyeEdinburgh@secularprolife But if you want New Testament passages to prove Christians oppose abortion, I would point you to Christ's teachings that we should let the little kids come to him for Heaven was made for "such as these", and that if you cause a "little one" to stumble, it would be better to...
@EyeEdinburgh@secularprolife You apparently didn't read my comment very carefully. I said the earliest Christian documents not in the Bible clearly and unequivocally condemn abortion in harsh terms. Christianity was anti-abortion from the beginning -- this is historical fact.
@ZackVanNus @thejasonwisdom You say the assumption is funny, bit you're talking about something you know absolutely nothing about. America doesn't lack compassion. All over the place there are homeless shelters, food pantries, etc., all geared toward helping those in need. You're just too blind or scared...
@LeeStrobel As bad (and well-deserved) a reputation as faith-based movies have, The Case for Christ was a very well-made film. I'll be looking forward to this one.
@AlisonBoxxer@RBReich VP Kamala Harris bailed out BLM members who stormed government buildings and murdered innocent people. But sure, Democrats aren't trying to overthrow the government.
@ZackVanNus @thejasonwisdom Clearly you've never read a book on economics. I would suggest Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell. He makes an excellent case that while no economics system is perfect, capitalism is the best system for the poor.
@DDFStrand Okay, but if Peter Singer can be considered an ethicist (who believes that killing infants and having sex with animals are both morally permissible), I'd say there's a pretty low bar for who can be considered an ethicist.
