@caillouwithnaxe Thank you for being a long term user and supporter of @cliqz. We focus on the @Ghostery browser and you can join the beta test here: https://t.co/RJ64Pq77Ew
@JKOcgn We're looking for a solution what we do with the browsers and what to recommend you. The browsers will be maintained by the team until we announce a good solution!
@cliqz Daaaamn. Good night, sweet prince. You were truely too good for this world.
I'll keep the Tech @ Cliqz dat archive seeded, you heroes deserve to have your story kept up.
This is a terrible loss for privacy on the web, especially Germany. Search history can contain your most private thoughts. Cliqz integrated a privacy-respecting search engine right into the browser. Also, a remarkably productive and friendly team when I visited.
First, Cliqz' challenge was enormous.
Unlike DuckDuckGo who sits on Google's search index, Cliqz was trying to build a completely new one.
That is an order of magnitude harder and they did a great job: hundreds of thousands of DAUs.
Hat tip to them.
The latest victim of online search market Google monopoly! Effective and timely antitrust enforcement is crucial to protect competition and consumer choice in the time of the COVID19 pandemic
If you or companies you know are hiring, you should definitely get in touch with @cliqz employees. They are one of the brightest and amazing people to work with. My DMs are open and I am more than happy to make introductions.
The journey of @cliqz comes to an end. Building search engine, browsers & privacy enhancing tech from scratch is not easy, yet we did it.
Incredibly proud of the team, the products & the tech we built over the last decade.
Huge shoutout to all the Cliqz users who kept us going
Yesterday we've announced the end of Cliqz and our hearts are still heavy. We hope someone continues this important fight for digital independence. But for now: Thanks for believing in something that was unlikely from the beginning, but worth believing in. https://t.co/Io6eF6IhmW
I am extremely grateful for my journey of 11 yrs and 89 days pushing for our mission to become reality from day 1 of @cliqz .I loved every bit of it thanks to the wonderful #cliqzers and their tireless efforts to overcome all hurdles (which sometimes seemed impossible).Thank you!
@MarcAlHames @chrmod@cliqz Very sorry to hear that, Marc – loved the idea behind Cliqz, the passion in the team, and following all the updates. It's a great shame for things to go this way, as the world really needs a privacy-first web browser.
Best of luck to all the Cliqz folks on their next endeavours.
Just heard that @cliqz is closing down Browser and S earch — Those are sad news! Cliqz Browser has been a paragon of privacy online, and I had the pleasure of working with incredibly skilled people when creating the iOS version. Hope everyone lands on their feet. S
@Nellinson We already know about it 😭 Unfortunately, we can't do anything about it. Twitter doesn't support Firefox and therefore, we also have those bugs in the Cliqz browser ☹️ Reporting your problems to Twitter could help us! Thank you very much! 🙏
