@mhbvickers@rail613@mirgray@semaj_d One of many not so sweet deals for the public and the environment but hey! We got the rink of dreams. Democracy only works when people understand what will happen, not what happened.#ottnews
@penottawa@KenGray Getting any of the facts out on the Lansdowne giveaway, the LRT fiasco, the farm giveaway, the Calypso giveaway etc. has always been difficult and it just got harder. Bulldog links on Facebook have been blocked by Meta.
Watson began his reign of error with the City Hall rink of dreams which distracted from the nightmare inside. Enjoy the Commanda bridge because like the rink dream the community sugar is going to have to last a long time.
@MichaelLeoM@kmccrann1 @grahamctv Ottawa's 3 greatest transit problems are sprawl (distance), a transit desert on Carling Ave. And the Ottawa/Gatineau cross river connection. The Chiarekli/Doucet plan addressed all 3. O'Brian/watson replacement plan destroyed the Transitway and added no new service. Corruption.
@MichaelLeoM@kmccrann1 @grahamctv The system I fought for was surface rail from Barrhaven to downtown, Kanata along Carling to downtown and Prince of Wales Bridge to Gatineau. First leg was trashed by O'Brien and Watson, used Parkway instead of Carling, let bridge crumble. It was a criminal disregard for city.
@KenGray You can't get a civic revolution when no one is paying attention because the rest of the world is also falling apart. No focus. Nothing happens anywhere. Start with what you can change. We can get honest city govt. That's doable.
The two crushing issues of our age are governance and climate change. Neither of which the new Alberta Premier is capable of engaging with. A difficult situation for the province and the Canadian federation. #ottpol
SO an earthquake hits northern New York and the folks who run Ottawa are building a monster 1950s hospital over a fault line directly connected to it. When they could and should have done otherwise. @0ttpoli @0ttnews
Systemic corruption hurts us all.
@unpubmedia Think about this. 60,000 people voted for me when I ran for Mayor and the only place I can get memoirs talking about systemic corruption is Unpublished Ottawa and the Bulldog. Both tiny publishing platforms constantly threatened. Silence everywhere else.#ottpoli
@unpubmedia Systemic corruption like systemic racism is so hardwired into society that it is invisible. How did Carling Ave get dumped for the western parkway or the farm or L.P. get privatized? S.C. And like systematic racism most people don't want to believe it exists.
@_MarkSutcliffe The last mayor expressed frustration also. He created it and seen nothing from Sutcliffe that he will be any different on any of the major issues confronting Ottawa. O'Brien. Watson. Sutcliffe. Versions 1, 2,3. #0ttpoli
