Transphobes are not fit to be MPs.
If you can’t stand up for the rights of your vulnerable constituents you have due to online radicalisation, what will you stand up for?
Make no mistake - this is not a women’s rights movement either when people like Posie Parker/KJK 1/2
Read our statement on the two-child benefits cap below.
Almost nobody in the Labour Party positively supports the cap. Open Labour's door is open to Labour members, trade unions, economists and charities to discuss working together to build the campaign to scrap it.
When I met with asylum seekers forced to live on the Bibby Stockholm, they spoke of prison-like conditions, inadequate healthcare, seasickness and extreme levels of mental distress onboard.
Closing it is 100% the right decision. Residents should be moved out as soon as possible.
The ICJ ruling is damning.
It leaves no doubt: the occupation of the Palestinian territories is illegal and the Israeli government’s policies amount to racial segregation or apartheid.
The UK should immediately recognise Palestine, end arms sales to Israel and impose sanctions.
More than 1 in 6 children in Nottingham East are affected by the two-child benefit cap.
@CPAGUK found that 93% of impacted parents say the policy makes them less able to afford food.
It's not too late for the King's Speech to commit to scrapping it. https://t.co/N7fG79qkzK
We must support people with gender dysphoria, not make their life harder to cope with.
We need careful, considered clinical provision for our trans community.
My statement on puberty blockers comes after much discussion with MPs, constituents & groups over last 2 days.
The proposed ban on puberty blockers for young trans people is very concerning.
Labour's manifesto promised to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition & acceptance" -this entails ending the ban on puberty blockers.
I will always stand with trans youth.
Cass review recommended caution, not exclusion, for any treatment and drew attention to shortcomings of previous GIDs service. To those asking will always be MP who listens to demand for better research & evidence base for help for those with gender dysphoria, not abandons them.
We’re appalled that Wes Streeting will continue the puberty blockers ban imposed by the Tories this year.
This move is not in the best interests of trans young people.
Here’s some of the concrete organising we’re doing in the coming weeks to build a movement against this🧵
Furious at the policy positions coming from Wes Streeting which will put trans children’s lives at risk.
Young Labour members, sign this open letter to show how many of us feel strongly about standing with our trans siblings & urge a reconsideration 👇

The problem is @wesstreeting; the Cass Review is being discredited by numerous prestigious healthcare organisations globally.
The UK is an outlier.
Hope you can take that on board.
Trans people need to be able to exist safely as themselves with respect & dignity, and with equal access to adequately funded healthcare.
I support & stand in solidarity with the trans community —including young trans people — for whom puberty blockers are a life-saving measure.
I’ve met young people who’ve been prescribed puberty blockers. Some told me they’d helped lift them from depression & probably saved their life.
A blanket ban is wrong & not what Cass recommended. Careful, clinical provision is the way forward, not this politicisation.
Only a small number of young people are prescribed puberty blockers. Those who are often describe them as life-saving.
I know the distress the puberty blockers ban is causing them.
No matter what happens in court, I will continue fighting for the government to scrap it.
Labour's manifesto promised to "remove indignities for trans people who deserve recognition & acceptance".
That entails ending the Tories' ban on puberty blockers.
Young people – cis & trans – must have access to healthcare they need. I'll always stand with the trans community.
This is appalling.
From Scottish Labour to trade unions, most of the labour movement stands united on trans rights. 🏳️⚧️
The Labour Government should be calling for trans equality, not pandering to the right-wing press.
Hugely disappointed and very confused by @AngelaRayner@UKLabour statement that JK Rowling “supports trans rights”. A quick glance at her X account shows this is as far from the case as could be. Her main source of entertainment seems to be deliberately misgendering trans women
